Dear Lynn-Rose Families,It is hard to believe that we have completed two weeks of school already but we have hit the ground running and a busy school year is underway! I hope your children are settled into their school routines and are supported by healthy home routines as well. When these are both in place and our home-school partnership is strong, our students will undoubtedly experience success.Next Wednesday, September 17th we look forward to hosting members of our Parents Association for the first meeting, as we begin planning for major events and the myriad ways in which parents can support their child’s education by volunteering at Lynn-Rose. Please stay tuned for more information about the Parent’s Association and how they have a positive impact on our school. This is a great opportunity for you to get involved!Next week I will also open my calendar so that I can begin meeting with LRS families and learn more about your hopes and dreams for your child. Building on a tradition from last year, individual meetings are a powerful way for me to learn about individual students as well as begin to understand how our school is delivering on our promise to parents as well as opportunities we have to continually improve. If you would be interested in meeting with me, please look out for an upcoming message and book a date/time that is convenient for you. I look forward to it!On a personal note, I am in awe of the kind and warm welcome I have received as a new member of the Lynn-Rose community. From students, teachers and parents alike, each person I have spoken with has reached out with genuine interest towards myself and my family and everyone has been exceedingly helpful. Moving cities or countries and joining a new community can be a challenge and one I am certain many of our families have experienced. The adaptation process is immeasurably easier when we have students, colleagues and community members like we have at Lynn-Rose.Wishing our families a safe, restful and rejuvenating weekend.Michael ArcidiaconoHead of School

Kicking Off the School Year with Grade 5 Leadership
Our Grade 5 students have officially begun their journey as school leaders this year! They have taken charge of the daily morning announcements and are already preparing to take on more leadership roles by the end of September. This program is designed to help them grow in confidence while actively contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations of the school.
The students have also started running the cafeteria with great enthusiasm. They prepared and delivered presentations to all classes on the safe and respectful use of the cafeteria, ensuring a positive experience for everyone. To further support their new responsibilities, Lower School Principal Mrs. Dabrowski led a special session with the Grade 5s, encouraging them to embrace their roles and set an example for younger students.
We are proud of our Grade 5 leaders and look forward to seeing their growth throughout the year!

Grade 12 History SpotlightOur Grade 12 History students are already demonstrating strong critical thinking skills by making judgments and supporting their findings with evidence. Recently, they researched the monarchs of the Bourbon dynasty, built arguments about each ruler’s significance, and then ranked them based on thoughtful class discussions. To present their findings, students were required to share the information on a display that will support their learning throughout the unit.
Grade 12 Business UpdateOur Grade 12 Business students have been working diligently to explore how businesses evaluate their effectiveness and to analyze the impact of globalization and containerization on Canada. To showcase their learning, students have created engaging YouTube Shorts with interactive replies and delivered classroom presentations. These activities have allowed them to demonstrate their growing understanding of key business concepts while developing their communication and digital media skills.
We are so proud of our students for their incredible participation in this year’s Terry Fox Run.With energy, determination, and a spirit of giving, they came together to honour Terry Fox’s legacy and show what it means to make a difference. It was truly inspiring to see their commitment to such an important cause. There’s still time to support their efforts. If you’d like to contribute, you can do so here: DONATE HEREThank you for cheering on our students and for helping us continue Terry’s dream of raising funds for cancer research. Together, we are making an impact!
